Locations
The Marco Polo Institute is unique among international study abroad programs in that this organization transports students among three regions of Italy, creating a "moveable campus" in each setting.
The first-rate hotels and en suite room arrangements offer a refinement not matched by the dormitory accommodations most schools provide.
The world class academic instruction, together with the introduction to artisanal food crafts and traditional techniques, brings depth to this culinary education and provides a strong base for future careers. Much more is offered in these three months than can be presented in brief culinary tours, while the intense language and cultural education add enrichment which culinary programs alone can not provide. The quality of the academic components set Marco Polo apart from other schools: these three months offer true insight into the range of Italian regional life, aesthetics and cultures.
Culinary Arts Program
Students study culinary arts in Otranto at the Institute. They visit olive orchards, local farms, fishing boats on the Adriatic and Mediterranean Seas, local wineries and shipping ports.
Hospitality Management
The Hospitality Management Program starts off in the classroom and culminates with experiences of on-site placements.
Environmental Studies
The Environmental Studies Program is currently offered by faculty of the Universita di Lecce in the region of Puglia where exceptional geographic and historic events offer unique opportunities to environmental studies students.
